This has been
fun!!!
It has been some time since last
update; however, that does not mean we have not had fun this summer.
Everyone has been ripping up the sky with their "toys."
Just a few updates: Steve has a
new Aircore Colt and Katana 70, Manish enjoys his new Ultra Stick;
Kim has been into warbirds lately- P-51 and Zero, Dan has been a lot
into weird flying wings :), Valdis cannot seem to make up his mind
and settle for one model- he had a 72'' Yak with Brison 2.4, but
recently started flying Showtime 4D with Saito 150FS, which seems to
be the keeper.
Sad as the summer flying season
is on its final stretch, but flying will continue throughout the
year. Fly until the wings fall off!!!!

Dan's New Toy!

Welcome the newest Dan's model
1/3 scale Great Planes Pitts. It is powered by US Engines 41 cc
gasoline engine, but could use a little more power for better
performance. This is a truly beautiful model!
Maiden Flight Video
Let the fun
begin!!!
It's that time of year when we all start getting out of our nests to
have some fun. New models have been built, some finally fixed,
motors traded, etc. We also have a couple of new club members on
which more info will follow soon.
Bellow are some pictures of
what new we have built over the winter:

When two Katana's collide...
(April 3, 2006)
Today Keith took his spankin
new Katana 70 for a maiden, but nobody expected that the day would
end like this… A mid air crash with Valid’s Katana 40 ended in
broken 70’s tail section and total loss of Katana 40. They all go
down at some point, just a matter of time. The peaces were spread
out in a 300 feet radius.
Oh well, Sh…t
happens…

New Gee Bee crash video
It was a great winter day in Latvia that gathared many rc model
enthisiasts. The main event was a maiden flight of Gee Bee. It is a
very beautiful model! Sadly, the wing structure failed and on the
first landing... Well, just watch the video under "Our Videos"
section.
Glow Model + Glider flight
Creativity is important in this hobby, otherwise it can get boring.
Dan and Valdis decided to have some fun by attaching a glider to a 9
feet Telemaster. At reasonable height the release mechanism worked
flawlessly and the separation went well. From that moment, two pilots
were needed. No damages what so ever; we did not capture this on
camera, but next time we will post a video as well.
